Rhonda Kay Spicer

Sunrise: September 5, 1952              Sunset: January 28, 2024

Rhonda was born and raised in Waverly, Tennessee on September 5, 1952. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Evelyn Jean Spicer; Father, James Staten; Sisters, Banida Ann Spicer Nichols, Violet Jean Spicer; Brothers, Sherman Marice and Wesley Spicer. Also preceded in death were her loving Aunts, Josephine Shields and Lois Kelly.

Rhonda attended Waverly Central High School. She began attending church at an early age and was a member of Salter's Chapel A.M.E. Church. Rhonda was employed at AHC Waverly and retired after 28 years of service. She enjoyed her job and loved working with her special friends, Rhonda Burnaine and Susie Mays. Rhonda was very devoted to the people she loved and always called on her friend, Jennifer Ellis, in times of need and Jay Gotham never failed to keep her yard mowed and sometimes he even brought lunch or dinner! She had a loving and quiet spirit, and she loved children. She especially loved her cousin, Matthew Turner, who would take her around town shopping whenever she called, as well as her trusted cousins, Jeannine Gray and Shelia Coleman.

She leaves to cherish her memories a host of Cousins and Extended Family, Pearlie Louise Nichols, Shelia Coleman, Milton Shields, Sylvia Frederick, Winona Gardner, Roderic Shields, Shirley Wylie, Brenda Fitzpatrick, Comeil Turner, Jeannine Collier Gray, Charles Nichols (Brother-in-law), Betty Eason, Stepsisters, Mildred Holden, Barbara Williams, Jamie Sue Staten, Pansey Staten, Rosie Burns and Tyree Burns. She is also survived by her two “paw friends”, Bear and Pouncer.
