Albert Peter Yanusitus Jr., affectionately known to friends as “Big Al,” age 65, of Burns, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on October 20, 2026.
He was born on July 21, 1961, in Orange, New Jersey, to Albert Peter Yanusitus and Dorothy Marie (Choat) Yanusitus. He grew up in Andover, New Jersey, and Burns, Tennessee, and graduated from Dickson County High School with the Class of 1979.
Al followed in his father’s footsteps as a truck driver, owning and operating his own business, Quality Transportation Services, as an independent trucker.
Al enjoyed collecting guns and vehicles of all sorts. He had a particular fondness for military firearms, knives, work trucks, and equipment. Those who knew Al well will remember his love of conversation. Whether stopping by a local business or dropping in on friends, he always made time for a visit. A visit with Al was rarely short and often lasted a little longer than expected, sometimes stretching well into the evening. Those who knew Al well knew he kept his own schedule—affectionately known as “Al time.” Al was raised in the Catholic faith and served as an altar boy during his grade school years.
