Mrs. Lilla Jane Adair, age 85, of Dickson, Tennessee, passed away on October 29, 2026, at Dickson Health & Rehab.
She was born July 19, 1941, in Greenwood, Mississippi, to the late John Newton Cox and Inez Montague Cox.
Lilla was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who spent her life caring for her family and home. Though she never worked as a teacher by trade, she had a natural gift for teaching and shared her knowledge and warmth with everyone she met. Over the years, she worked several part-time jobs in addition to her work as a homemaker, but it was her time spent selling clocks at the Opryland Hotel that became dearest to her heart; to so many, she was simply known and loved as "the clock lady."
Lilla had a deep love for traveling and gardening, finding joy in new places and in nurturing things that grew. But more than anything, she cherished her family, and her face lit up brightest in the company of her grandchildren. Her kindness, patience, and willingness to teach left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
