Mrs. Melba Jane Cash, age 87

Of New Johnsonville, TN passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, at her home. She was born March 18, 1937, in Hickman County, TN to Samuel T. Pace and Addie Bastin Pace. 

Melba was a quiet individual who touched the lives of many with her kind and gentle spirit. Her passion for sewing and quilting brought beauty and comfort to those around her, while her love for going on rides through the countryside allowed her to appreciate the simple joys of life.

Melba's proudest accomplishments were not found in accolades or awards, but in the cherished moments spent with her family. Affectionately known as “Mama C”, she took great delight in attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's ball games and various activities, always offering unwavering support and an abundance of love.

In the hearts of her surviving family members, Melba leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until service time Wednesday, April 24 at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cash will be conducted at 1:00pm Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel. 

Interment will follow in J. Warren Cemetery in New Johnsonville.

Preceded in death by:

Parents: Samuel Tarnce Pace and Addie Jane Bastin Pace

Husband: Charles Thomas “C.T.” Cash

Daughter: Michele Cash

Brothers: Jim Pace, Johnny Pace, Donald Pace, and Homer Pace

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Melba to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
