John Ervin Hunt                  Age: 83

Of:  Waverly, TN passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at his home. Mr. John Hunt was born November 24, 1939, in Little Lot, Tennessee, to Robert Ervin and Evie Esther Kelly Hunt. He was married to Marjorie Ellison Hunt. John attended Bascom United Methodist Church in Waverly, Tennessee. He was the Founder and Owner of Hunt’s Outdoors in Waverly. He was a longtime serving member of the Humphreys County Commissioners. John was most widely known for his professional fishing achievements and sharing his love for the great outdoors. He loved gardening and serving his community, including his well-known fish fry talents. John loved his family and had many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation: will be Monday, May 8, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: will be Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry McGranahan and Marcus Vine will be officiating.

Interment: will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Waverly, Tennessee.
