Dorothy Marie Killebrew of McEwen, Tennessee, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the age of 89 in Atoka, Tennessee. She was born on June 17, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, to Floyd Kills and Aline Wall. Dorothy lived a life rich in love, creativity, and service to others. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she encountered.
A devoted member of the McEwen church of Christ, Dorothy embraced her faith and shared it generously through her words and actions. She was known for her nurturing spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Dorothy's compassionate heart made a lasting impact on her community.
Dorothy had a passion for the arts, particularly in creating beautiful stained-glass pieces that reflected her vibrant personality and artistic talent. She found joy in tending to her vegetable garden, and especially her flower garden, where she transformed her love for nature into flourishing displays of color and life. Dorothy also enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with her family and friends.
Family was at the core of Dorothy's existence. She adored them and cherished every moment spent together. The laughter, the stories, and the love shared during those precious times will forever be etched in the hearts of those left behind.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Humphreys County Funeral Home
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Humphreys County Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Keele officiating.
Interment will follow in McEwen Cemetery.
