In Loving Memory Mackie Beatrice Coleman Jennings Mackie Beatrice Coleman Jennings was born March 11, 1934, on the family farm in Gorman, Tennessee. She passed on June 8, 2022, in her home on the Coleman family farm surrounded by her husband, children, and minister. Mackie was the sixth of seven children born to Percy Jones Coleman, Sr. and Mary Lottie “Mamie” Mays Coleman. Her parents were taught by the late Bro. Ms. Mackie had a special love for all children, especially special needs students. She served as the Humphreys County Supervisor of Special Education for several years before returning to her love of teaching students in the classroom at Waverly Elementary School. One of Ms. Mackie’s proudest accomplishments was the publication of her book Coleman Ridge which chronicles her life story and the history of the Coleman family-from her grandparents to her grandchildren.
