Joe Neil Loggins

August 24, 1940 - July 3, 2020

Joe Neil Loggins of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed away at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville on July 3, 2020. He was born in Charlotte, Tennessee August 24, 1940. Mr. Loggins is preceded in death by his parents, John Boyd Loggins and Ruby Odell Fowler Loggins; his son, Kenneth Neil Loggins; and his half-brothers, Paul Littleton Loggins and Daniel Odell Loggins. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Sue Baldwin Loggins of Tullahoma; daughter, Lucretia Campbell (Sandy) of New Johnsonville, Tennessee; brothers John Thornton Loggins (Ann) of Metairie, Louisiana and Robert Dewey Loggins (Peggy) of Franklin, Tennessee; and sister Dr. Mary Katherine Dunlap (Steve) of Bon Aqua, Tennessee. He leaves behind five grandchildren: Brittney Loggins, Ashton Loggins, Shannon Loggins, Megan Hutcherson, and Matthew Campbell; and three great-grandchildren, Landon Loggins, Vylette Ponder and Ezra Ponder. Joe attended Charlotte Elementary and High School. He holds a Master of Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Tennessee. Following initial employment with Tennessee Valley Authority, he worked for fifteen years at Arnold Engineering Development Center, lastly as supervisor of electrical design for Pan Am World Services. He then served for twenty years as General Manager of Tullahoma Utilities Board until retirement in 2006. Joe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was an active member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church and served with love and dedication. He was a Rotarian and had been a member of Toastmasters. He spent much of his retirement restoring and researching property in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee and promoting the preservation of the area's history. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
