Thomas King Welker Age: 85, Passed away Wednesday June 3, 2026 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. He was a devoted servant, family man, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on November 13, 1940, in Dickson County, King lived a life marked by steadfast commitment, faith, and hard work.
He was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ, where his unwavering faith guided him through decades of service. For more than fifty years, he lovingly served as an Elder at Mt. Olive, tending to his congregation with warmth, wisdom, and strength. His deep love for his Lord was the foundation of his life and the compass that guided his every action.
In addition to his spiritual dedication, King was a proud veteran, having served four years in the United States Navy. During his time aboard the USS Enterprise Battleship, he held the position of "Postmaster," a role that reflected his reliability and commitment to duty during his naval service.
He was also an accomplished entrepreneur, owning and operating Welker Construction Company for over 48 years. His tireless work ethic, integrity, and craftsmanship became the hallmark of his business, touching the lives of many in his community. His hands shaped more than just buildings; they built a legacy of dedication and excellence.
More than all his achievements, King cherished his family and friends, whose lives were enriched by his kindness and steadfast love. His character and devotion left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Visitation: will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, June 05, 2026 and 9-11 Saturday June 6, 2026, at the Spann Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: for King Welker will be conducted at 11 am Saturday June 6, 2026, from the chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Pruitte and Bro. Clarence Deloach officiating.
Interment: in the Mt. Olive Cemetery
