Thomas David Eugene Buchanan, age 88, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 3, 2026.
Born on February 9, 1938, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. A graduate of Hot Springs Highschool in 1956, Tom lived a life marked by faith, service, hard work, and devotion to his family. He retired from the Texas Department of Labor following many years of dedicated service. Following his retirement, he enjoyed raising cattle on his farm in Hillsboro, Texas, where he found great joy in the outdoors, caring for animals, and country living.
A proud patriot, Tom faithfully served his country in the United States Army. His love for the Lord was evident throughout his life as he faithfully served in numerous church ministries. Over the years, he served as a deacon, educational director, puppet ministry director, children's church director, financial advisor, usher, and graciously opened his home to missionaries and evangelists.
Tom had a passion for sports and especially enjoyed skiing. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, better known as the "Hogs," as well as the Dallas Cowboys and the Tennessee Titans. More than anything, Tom treasured the time he spent with his family and the many friendships he made throughout his life.
