Rhonda was the devoted wife of Eli Duncan, and the loving mother of Shelby Stephens and Emma Duncan. She was the cherished daughter of Linda Mason, and beloved sister to Sammy Mason (Amy), Jimmy Mason (Cindy), Pam Vineyard (DJ), and Marsha Aulidge (Aaron).
Niece, Kayla Vineyard-Creque(James), Nephew, Travis Mason (Elizabeth)
She is preceded in death by her father, Randy Mason; her niece, Samantha Mason, Brother in law, Donald Vineyard, paternal grandparents, Lawrence Randall and Yuna Mason; and her maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Bertha Brown.
She was deeply adored by her special helpers, nephew and nieces, Dalton, Blakelyn, and Ember, who brought joy, laughter, and purpose to her days.
Rhonda will be remembered for countless things—her generosity, her tenderness, and her endless capacity to care. A true champion of children, she opened her home and heart to little ones who needed comfort, safety, and love during the hardest moments of their lives. Her gift was creating magic from the ordinary.
Holidays at Rhonda’s house were legendary. Every nook and cranny was decorated so beautifully that children (and adults) walked in wide-eyed with delight. Her Easter egg hunts were famous—hundreds of eggs, mountains of candy, and the sound of laughter drifting across the yard. And at Christmas, her outdoor displays lit up the neighborhood with cheer and sparkle.
Rhonda loved the simple, good things in life. She canned food from the garden with pride, and loved sharing the fruits of her labor with others.
She loved her chickens and shared the sunshine yellow yolked eggs to so many. Eli will no doubt continue to do the same, cause Rhonda wouldn't have it any other way.
On October 8, 2010, Rhonda married the love of her life, James Eli Duncan in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Marsha and Aaron’s home.
Rhonda often said that Eli was her rock and protector . Their relationship reflected a rare kind of friendship and commitment. No matter what life brought, Rhonda stood firmly with him. Eli worked endlessly to care for her, striving to bring her peace and joy.
Rhonda’s warmth, humor, and love will be forever missed by all who were blessed to know her.
As Shelby and Emma say,
"Fly High, Mama."
