Melissa Haggard, age 64, passed from this life on December 9, 2025. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. The family will be receiving friends at Spann Funeral Home, (1961 Hwy 48N) Dickson TN on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, (2028 Mount Zion Rd) Decaturville TN.

Melissa Hampton Haggard, “Sweet Melissa” to those who knew her well, was born in Dickson TN to Claudia Aline Jones Hampton and Donald Eugene Hampton. She was baptized in Dickson at Pomana Church of Christ when she was 16. Melissa married Mark Haggard and together they built a fulfilling life with kids, grandkids, and beloved pets. She was always loyal to her friends and family and loved them with the ferocity of a Mama Bear. Her four grandbabies brought her joy that only grandchildren can bring. She enjoyed all kinds of crafting, especially drawing and coloring, and sharing those handicrafts with those she loved. The Alabama Crimson Tide was her favorite team.

Melissa is survived by her best friend of 34 years and husband of 31 years, Mark Haggard, daughters Davissa (Chris) Jarnagin and Jennifer “Nikki” (Taylor) King, grandchildren Mac Conklin, Riley Jarnagin, Spencer and Allyson King, mother Claudia Dunnagan, brothers Dewayne Hampton and Keith (Janis) Hampton, mother-in-law Emma Haggard, many beloved nieces and nephews, and fur babies Izzy, Rusty, and Bandit. She is preceded in death by her father Donnie Hampton, step-father Wayne Dunnagan, father-in-law Bobby Haggard, and fur babies Oreo, Priss, and Titan.
