Martha Neblett Wall (89) of Charlotte, TN passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025. Martha was born in Charlotte on March 14, 1936 and lived there most of her life.
Martha was primarily a homemaker. She worked at Harvey’s Department Store in Nashville before starting a family and part-time in the late 1980’s for People’s Bank in Vanleer.
Martha was a loving and devoted wife for over 50 years. She and her husband, Charles Willard Wall, traveled extensively after retirement and she always enjoyed and supported him in his antique car restoration hobby. Martha always kept in touch with friends and was loved by all who knew her. Martha was a wonderful asset to her family. She spent more time raising a family than most, as her 2 children were 15 years apart in age. She also played a pivotal role in the care of several elderly family members. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, shopping and cats; she always had a cat during her lifetime. Martha was an accomplished pianist, having graduated from Mrs. H C Miller’s program in 1953. For this recital Martha played the entire composition of George Gershwin’s Rapsody in Blue. She could also “play by ear”, a gift she inherited from her grandmother.
Martha was a long-time member of Charlotte-Fagan Church.
A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery in Dickson, TN on Saturday, May 31st at 1:00 PM
The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 1 and Unit 4 at NHC in Dickson for their kind and loving care. Martha’s time at NHC was brighter due to her wonderful roommate, Virginia Marvine Hooper Johnson of White Bluff, her sister Sandra Hooper Turbeville of Dickson, and the rest of Ms. Johnson’s family.
