Keith McClurkan

Keith McClurkan passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the age of 60.

Keith was a hardworking, capable, and good man who spent his life taking care of the people around him. He was rarely one to sit still and never seemed to take a day off. Over the years, he wore many hats and built a life defined by hard work, determination, and the belief that if something was worth doing, it was worth doing the right way.

Skilled and intelligent, Keith seemed to have a way of figuring out just about anything he put his mind to. He worked for the City of White Bluff for 15 years, serving in the Codes Department and in sewer management. His entrepreneurial spirit also led him down several paths throughout his life. He owned a siding company, built houses, and owned and operated his own trucking company for many years. Originally known as McClurkan Trucking, the business was eventually renamed Grand Da Trucking.

Keith took great pride in his work, but he was just as willing to share what he knew with someone else. He was patient when teaching others and wanted to make sure they learned the right way to do something. To Keith, the quality of what he taught someone was a reflection of the same pride he put into his own work. If you were willing to learn, he was willing to take the time to show you.

For as hard as Keith worked, there was a laid-back and simple side to him as well. He appreciated what he had and found contentment in the life he had built. He loved his farm and his land and did not need extravagance to be happy. Keith was a simple man in the best sense of the word; grounded, hardworking, proud of an honest day's work, and guided by strong morals and values.

Those values were perhaps seen most clearly in the way Keith treated people. He was kind, caring, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand. When someone needed him, Keith was there. Whether that meant fixing something, teaching someone how to do it themselves, offering advice, or simply showing up, helping others came naturally to him. Over the years, that willingness to give his time and knowledge allowed him to touch the lives of more people than he probably ever realized.

Music was another important part of Keith’s life. He began playing the bass guitar at a young age, first playing with his family gospel group. His love for music stayed with him through the years, and he eventually played with his band, Night Moves, around the Dickson area for several years. It was one of the many talents of a man who seemed to be able to do a little bit of everything, and do it well.

Above everything else, Keith loved his family deeply. Much of the hard work that defined his life was done with them in mind. He worked tirelessly to make sure his family was cared for and had what they needed, and he never wanted them to question how much they meant to him. He made a point of ensuring they knew they were loved, cared for, and could always count on him. Beneath the hardworking, proud man was a tender heart for those he called his own; including a special love and closeness with his mother. He was, proudly, a mama’s baby.

Keith especially loved and cherished his grandchildren, who were a great source of pride and happiness in his life. He treasured the time he spent with them and always wanted them to know how deeply they were loved and that they could count on him.

Keith leaves behind more than the businesses he built, the work he completed, or the things he knew how to fix. His legacy lives in the people he helped, the lessons he patiently taught, the family he worked so hard to provide for, and the many lives made better simply because Keith was someone they could depend on. He was proud of his work, grateful for what he had, loyal to the people he loved, and always willing to help someone along the way.

He was a hardworking man, a family man, a teacher, a musician, a provider, and a friend to many. Most of all, Keith McClurkan was simply a good man, and he will be deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
