Jerry Scott Wilkey

June 17, 1962 - August 3, 2026

Scott was a man of many hats, quite literally and figuratively because he was always finding something new to build, cook, fix, grow, or explore.

He found peace in God’s creation, whether he was tucked away in a deer stand or a duck blind, casting a line into the water, or taking in the vast beauty of the beach or mountains. He definitely felt most at home outdoors.

Scott was also a jokester. His quick wit and playful spirit kept family and friends laughing until it hurt, often wondering what he was going to be up to next.

He was a fantastic chef, happiest when feeding people, friends and strangers alike. He had a gift for growing things, too, spending countless hours gardening and farming. He understood that the best things in life often require patience, hard work, and a little faith.

To many, Scott had a tough exterior, but those who truly knew him were blessed to see the incredibly soft heart underneath. He was the kind of man who showed sacrificial love without asking for recognition in return.

Scott will be deeply missed beyond words, but we are forever grateful for the years we shared, the memories he gave us, and the love he leaves behind. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that his suffering has ended and that his story continues with Christ and in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

Scott is survived by his daughter, Caroline Wilkey (Eric Wood); and his beloved grandson, Cooper Proctor.

He is also survived by his parents, Jane Cook Wild and Jerry David Wilkey; his stepmother, Carol Wilkey; his half-sister, Amanda Wilkey; his wife, Misha Wilkey; his stepchildren, Peyton Lashlee, Olivia Ellis (Noah), and Evan Lashlee; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends
