Donna Marie Hamm Pilkinton

Donna Marie Hamm Pilkinton, age 81, of Charlotte, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026.Born on November 27, 1943, Donna lived a life defined by compassion, service, and an unwavering love for her family and community. Affectionately known by so many as “Nana,” she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A faithful member of Midway Church of Christ, Donna’s faith served as the foundation of her life. She devoted herself to caring for others, both personally and professionally. She proudly graduated from Austin Peay State University’s nursing program alongside her daughter, Tracy, a milestone that remained one of her cherished accomplishments. Throughout her nursing career, Donna faithfully served countless patients, including many years as a nurse at St. Thomas Hospital Cancer Center, where her compassion and comforting presence brought hope to those facing life’s greatest challenges.

In addition to her nursing career, Donna served as secretary for Mrs. Amy’s Dance Studio, where she became a beloved part of the dance family. She loved dancing herself and found immense joy in attending dance recitals, competitions, and performances. Whether it was watching her loved ones on stage or cheering from the sidelines at children’s ball games, Donna rarely missed an opportunity to support those she loved.

Donna also had a passion for education and mentoring young people. She was instrumental in establishing the HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) program at Dickson County High School, helping inspire future generations to pursue careers in healthcare and service to others.

Above every accomplishment, Donna treasured her family. Being “Nana” was the role she loved most, and she poured endless love, encouragement, and wisdom into the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who considered her family. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to live on through each of them.

Donna will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her compassion, servant’s heart, joyful spirit, and steadfast faith leave behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
