Celebrating the Life of Carrie Lynn Bryan - September 18, 1962 – August 14, 2026
Carrie Lynn Bryan was born on September 18, 1962 in New Orleans, LA, and she lived a life full of creativity, family, friends, and plenty of memories.
Carrie and her sister Renea were adopted as infants, they were not sisters by blood, but that never mattered. They were sisters because they chose to be.
One of the most special things to happen in Carrie's life was finding her birth brother and sister after a 45-year search. She was reunited with Aaron Romero and Missie Perritt, both of Louisiana, and getting the chance to know them and reconnect with her birth family was something she treasured.
If you knew Carrie, you knew she loved to make things. She was always doing something creative. She loved arts and crafts, making homemade things to sell at local craft shows, decorating for Vacation Bible School, scrapbooking, and collecting just about anything she thought was interesting. She loved to make photo albums of practically every trip, holiday, celebration, and life event. Carrie was really good at making sure the memories didn't get forgotten.
Carrie’s home was the kind of place where her children's friends always knew they were welcome. If one of them needed somewhere to go, someone to talk to, something to eat, or just a safe place to hang out, Carrie's door was open. She had a way of making people feel comfortable and loved.
Carrie spent many years working in management in the food industry. She genuinely enjoyed people and loved taking care of her customers. Helping people was just part of who she was. Her creative talents eventually led her to become an accomplished floral designer. One of her accomplishments she was especially proud of, was when she served as the Executive Housekeeper and floral designer for the former Chancellor of Vanderbilt University. If you knew Carrie you knew she was definitely a cat person. She loved her cats, and Jags was especially loved and held a very special place in her heart.
Carrie is preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Trennette Shelton (Terry) and John Claiborne Terry, Jr., and her birth siblings, Aaron Romero and Missie Perritt.
Carrie leaves behind her sister, Trinnette Renea Veach (Gary); her children, Kira Nicole Bryan (Hunter), Areille Michelle Parris (Michael), and Jonathan William Bryan; her grandchildren, Tyler Dean Hampton and Evelyn Rose Parris; and Kaylynn Allen (Caleb), Ashlee Head (Gerald), and KC Channell, along with Aiden Randall Parris, Elijah Michael Parris, Cooper Allen, Tucker Allen, Coleman Head, and Weston Channell, all of whom held a special place in her heart. To them, she was simply Nini — Her very special friends Rick Thompson and Rhonda Bowers.
She will be remembered for her creativity, her collections, her photo albums, her love of cats, her willingness to help others, and especially for always having an open door and an open heart. Carrie will leave behind a little piece of herself with everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She will be loved, remembered, and missed more than words can say.
