Brenda Sue Baggett Allen

Mrs. Brenda Sue Baggett Allen, age 65, of Waverly, TN departed this world on October 18, 2020 at her family home surrounded by her devoted husband and loving children. She was born January 25, 1955 in Nashville, TN to Landy McCoy Baggett and Louis Baker Baggett. Brenda attended Cohn High School in Nashville, TN prior to her family relocating to Humphreys County where she finished her high school years at Waverly Central. Mrs. Allen married the love of her life, Gary Wayne Allen, on September 1, 1972 at Trace Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, mother, and managed the family business, Gary Allen Construction for many years. She was a cook like no other and loved for everyone to eat. Brenda was an avid bowler, winning many awards for individual and team events. She played softball for the New Johnsonville Women’s League. She was also a volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels in Waverly, fulfilling her passion of helping others in need. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00pm Thursday, October 22nd and from 9:00am until service time Friday, October 23rd at Humphreys County Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mrs. Allen will be conducted at 1:00pm Friday, October 23, 2020 in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Marcie Hendrix officiating. *Masks are strongly recommended for those who will be attending the visitation and funeral service. Interment will follow in Howe Family Cemetery in Camden, TN. Survivors: Husband: Gary Wayne Allen of Waverly, TN Daughters: Stacy Jo Allen of New Johnsonville, TN Tracy Allen Cockerham (Josh) of Nashville, TN Grandchildren: Aiden Allen, Baker Allen Kennedy Cockerham, Ryan Cockerham Beloved Pet: Apollo Preceded in death by: Parents: Landy McCoy Baggett and Louise Baker Baggett Brother: Stephen Ray Baggett The family would like to say a special thank you to Caris Hospice for all the loving, delicate, and devoted care they provided during her time in need. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Women of Hope Recovery Center, 1925 Highway 18, Medon, TN 38356.
