Billy Hugh Tidwell

Billy Hugh Tidwell (Age 91) of Columbia, TN passed away Friday, November 7, 2025.

Billy grew up in Burns, TN in Dickson County. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Air Force and soon became Jet Engine Maintenance Instructor. After leaving the Air Force he continued working in the Aeronautics with Lockheed Aircraft until the late 1960’s while traveling all over the U. S. He returned home and became a skilled cabinet maker until his retirement. He loved traveling out west and made many trips there. He moved to Idaho but returned to Tennessee after the death of his beloved wife, Margie. He later took many trips out west with his traveling buddy, Earl Cantrell. He met Betty Hudspeth, and they became partners and traveled together and enjoyed life together. Billy became a devoted caregiver for her until her death in 2022. He remained active and worked on many projects for friends and neighbors right up until his death.

Visitation: will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Spann Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: will be Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Spann Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Brown officiating.

Interment: will follow at Martin-Garton Cemetery, 1921 Spencer Mill Road, Burns, TN.
