Billy Thomas Cunningham, 91, passed away on December 5, 2025.
Born on May 9, 1934, Billy spent his years working side-by-side with those he loved—especially his brother Roy. Together, they farmed tobacco, raised pigs, tended the land, and built the kind of life earned through sweat, faith, and perseverance. Along with Roy, Billy co-owned and operated Cunningham Construction, where the two worked shoulder-to-shoulder building homes, barns, and structures that still stand as a lasting testament to their skill, dedication, and grit.
Billy loved his family deeply and was happiest when surrounded by the people he cared most about, whether at the table, on the farm, or out for a ride. He had a way of finding peace on the road driving through backroads and countryside, checking on things, visiting, or simply watching the world go by.
A hardworking man with a soft heart, Billy will be remembered for his devotion to family, his laboring hands, and the quiet strength that marked every chapter of his life. His legacy remains in the land he tended, the homes he built, and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
