Betty Tomlinson Williams

Betty Tomlinson Williams, age 69, of Dickson, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. Born on May 29, 1956, in Dickson, Betty lived a life that was as full and as giving as the meals she cooked for anyone who came through her door.

Betty was, above all else, a woman who raised everyone. Whether it was her own children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, or the neighbors down the road, she had a way of drawing people in and making them feel claimed. Her home was a gathering place, and her kitchen was its heart. She was known as the best cook around her PB fudge and potato salad were legendary and she never needed much of a reason to host a good party. Feeding others wasn’t just something Betty did; it was simply who she was.

For 35 years, Betty served as Director at Dickson County Senior Center, a role that suited her perfectly. She had a rare gift for connecting with people. That same spirit carried over into her personal life, where she devoted herself to caring for the elderly and was involved in the Adopt a Grandparent program at the local elementary school. Betty had a deep dedication to the Senior Center, and her presence there was felt by many.

Betty had a creative side as well. She loved sewing and making her MeMe bows, watching Cooking Shows and the Food Network, and going shopping, especially when it meant spoiling her grandchildren. She loved the Mayor’s Breakfast and could often be found finding ways to feed and serve others throughout the community.

What made Betty most remarkable was the legacy she leaves behind in the people who loved her. A devoted wife of 53 years to Glenn Williams, a mother of six, a grandmother to eight Little Angels, and a great-grandmother to two Great Little Angels, she poured herself into every one of them. Her family was her greatest achievement and her deepest joy.

Betty Tomlinson Williams will be remembered for her generous heart, her warm table, her steady hands, and the way she made everyone around her feel like they mattered. She leaves a hole that cannot be filled, but a life so fully lived that those who knew her will carry her forward in everything they do.
