Mr. W.A. Mitchell, Jr., age: 77 Of: McEwen, TN Died: Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born November 28, 1940 in Waverly, TN. Mr. Mitchell graduated from McEwen High School in 1960, during which he was an award winning FFA speaker. After graduation, Mr. Mitchell served in the Army National Guard and was stationed at Fort Knox, KY. After his honorable service, he went to work as a truck driver for his father’s company, Mitchell Truck Lines and later went to work for Franklin Limestone Company. Mr. Mitchell worked for Inland Container as a Foreman until his retirement. After he retired he worked briefly for B&B Construction. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the McEwen Masonic Lodge #525. Visitation: will be held from 4:00 – 8:00pm Friday, March 2nd with Masonic Services conducted at 7:00pm and from 9:00am until service time Saturday, March 3rd at the Humphreys County Funeral Home. Funeral Services: for Mr. W.A. Mitchell will be conducted at 12:00pm Saturday, March 3rd in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bryan McAlister officiating. Interment: will follow in the Gorman Cemetery. Survived by: Sister: Martha Mitchell of McEwen, TN Daughter: Veronica Bryan (Chad) of Centerville, TN Grandchildren: Daniel Baker (Lisa) of Dickson, TN Stephanie Cordova (Jonathan) of Jacksonville, FL Hunter Crick (Braressa) of Centerville, TN Garrett Crick of Beaufort, SC Gracee Bryan of Centerville, TN Great Granddaughter: Meredith Baker of Dickson, TN Several Cousins Preceded in death by: Parents: William Albert Mitchell, Sr. and Pauline Thomas Mitchell Wife: Melba Batten Mitchell Arrangements by the Humphreys County Funeral Home (931) 296-5955
