Maisie Alice Violet Haywood

Maisie Alice Violet Hayward Age: 97 Of: Kingston Springs, TN Died: January 16, 2018 Maisie Alice Violet Hayward, also known to many as Rita was born in Essex England. She is survived by her children; Dane Hayward and spouse Phil, Laurie Perez and Donna Wolfe; 7 Grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren. Maisie was a resident of Kingston Springs, TN and previously Long Island, NY. Maisie served in World War II as an RN where she met and nursed Donald Hayward, an injured American soldier, back to health. They married and moved to the United States after the war. Maisie was also a midwife and in her later years taught nursing students at Molloy College in Long Island, NY. Maisie was an avid swimmer, and as a young woman in England swam the English Channel as a support swimmer. She loved the beach, ocean and spending time in the outdoors. Maisie was always the life of the party where ever she went. She loved to knit and was part of “Knit Us Together” at the Kingston Springs Library where projects were made to help charities. Maisie loved her family and was known as Mim by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to be part of her life.
