Earl Ray Green Sr.

January 18, 1936 — June 9, 2017

Earl Ray Green, Sr. of Pegram, TN went to be with his Lord on June, 9 2017, He was born January 18, 1936, the fourth son of Sam Green and Dora Rollins Green. Mr. Green has been a devoted Church of Christ minister having preached the gospel for over 65 years. In the 1960’s, he was among the first to graduate from the Nashville School of Preaching. He continued on to preach the Gospel and baptize many souls in several states including, Alabama, Louisiana, North Carolina and several places thorough out the state of Tennessee. He attended Ravens Branch Church of Christ in Del Rio, TN with his family when he was a child and to this day it has remained one of his favorite places to preach the gospel. He continued to spread the Word at New Bethel Church of Christ in Lyles, TN, until the time of his passing. Visitation: will be 11:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Spann Funeral Home. Funeral Services: for Mr. Green will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 from the chapel of Spann with Bro. Darrell Blankenship officiating. Visitation: 11:00--2:00 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Brown Funeral Home in New Port, TN Graveside Service 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Green Laws Cemetery in Del Rio, TN Interment: Green Laws Cemetery He is survived by his wife of 18-1/2 years, Evelyn Hooper Green, of Pegram¸ TN. Children: Earl Ray "Todd" Green, Jr. and his wife Cheri of Clermont, FL, , Katrina (Mark) Bateman, of Jefferson City, TN, Elizabeth Green and Rainy Green of Pigeon Forge TN, Steve (Rhonda) Parman of Lebanon, TN, Katrina (Randy) Thomas of Lavergne, TN. His sisters, Shirley Rathbone¸ Hartford, TN; Pauline Presnell¸ Newport, TN; Julia (Jr.) Coggins, Bonnie Hall, Paralee (Elvine) Coggins; Edith (Jerry) Hunt, all of Del Rio, TN; His brothers, James Green, David (Vangie) Green, also of Del Rio, TN; His grandchildren, Rebekah Green and Kamdyn Green, Morgan Hawkins, Joseph Thomas, Landon Parman and Ryley Parman. One great granddaughter, Lilly Broyles. In addition to his parents, Mr. Green is preceded in death by his wife, Anne Green, three brothers, Charlie, Theodore and John Green, grandsons, William Green and Andrew Broyles.
