William Doyle Still August 25,1936 – October 19,2017 Obituary William Doyle Still (81) passed away on October 19, 2017 at his home in Hoover, AL surrounded by loved ones, after a long or courageous battle with leukemia. Doyle was born in Dickson, TN, August 25,1936. He was the youngest of three children born to the late Millard and Bessie Still. He is preceded in death by his brother Daniel Monroe Still. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Wanda, sister Ernestine Reed (Buford), nephew Tony Powers (Tracie), and nieces Belinda Byrd (Butch) and Leslie Brietenmoser (John), as well as several great nephews and nieces and many great-great nephews and nieces. Doyle graduated from Dickson High School in 1954. He served in the US Army from 1959-1961 and was stationed in Alaska. Doyle was an accomplished musician and played the drums for many years with bands in the middle TN area and while in the service. In 1991 Doyle retired from South Central Bell after a 35 year successful carrier. In his retirement years he became well known for his “Doodles and Dribbles” a collection of writings, poetry, and paintings. His paintings and writings were freely shared with friends and family and have found homes throughout the world. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Service Info: Visitation will be on Monday October 23rd from 5 – 8 pm, and again on Tuesday October 24th from 10-11 AM with the service following at Spann Funeral Home, 1961 TN-48, Dickson, TN 37055, 615-446-1123 Burial will be at Memorial Gardens in Dickson, TN
