Mr. Maurice Alexander Moffitt age 90 on Nashville, TN died June 21, 2017 at the Carthage Pavilion. He was born September 21, 1926 in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Central High School in 1944. He received his BA in accounting from Bethel College and accomplished his CPA in 1985. His working career was with Falls Business College and John A. Gupton College. He received a baseball & football scholarship at Tennessee Tech and a scholarship and lettered in baseball, football and basketball at Bethel College. He was inducted into the Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003. In 1970 He coached the first team from Tennessee to go to the Little League World Series and in 1976 coached a team to the Connie Mack World Series. He loved U. T. Football and the New York Yankees Baseball. Mr. Moffitt is survived by his Children: James Moffitt of Smyrna, TN, Steve Moffitt of Mt. Juliet, TN & Lisa Moffitt of Mt Juliet, TN; 8 Grandchildren & 5 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Parents: Luther Holden & Katie Lee McAlister Moffitt and his wife of 66 years: Nelson Moffitt. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Service 12::00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by: Spann Funeral Home (615-446-1123).
