Mrs. Kate V. Pass

April 23, 1926 — July 12, 2017

Kate Vanover Pass, 91, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away on July 12 after a short illness. Born April 23, 1926, in Grundy Virginia, she was the daughter of Lillie Yates and George Vanover. She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Kathleen Leggett and Connie C. Wallace; grandchildren P.A., Michele, Randy, Amanda and Allen; great-grandchildren, Fletcher, Alexandra, Piper, Casey, Landon, Logan, Lauren and Bruce; and great-great grandson Jase. Her son, James Allen Pass, predeceased her. Her two greatest passions were her family and her faith. Known by everyone as “Grandmother,” her door was always open with a hot meal and flowers from her gardens. She loved sports, attending all her great-grandchildren’s soccer matches, dance recitals and chorales; cheering for Vandy, Titans, Predators, Cardinals and Beech and her beloved Big Red Machine. She was an active member of Northside Church of Christ for many decades. She considered her life’s greatest achievement to be the World’s Greatest Great Grandmother. At her life’s end she celebrated her journey home, looking forward to seeing so many loved ones in wait for her. Her faith touched and uplifted everyone who saw her. Memorial services will be conducted at Northside Church of Christ, 1735 Old Hickory Boulevard, 37207, Wednesday, July 19. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-7 pm and Wednesday, 1-2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northside Benevolence Fund, 1735 Old Hickory Boulevard, 37207
