Donald Dudley Palmer Sr.

December 9, 1931 — February 22, 2015

Age: 83 Of: Jackson, formerly New Johnsonville, TN Died: Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Veteran’s Administration Nursing Home in Humboldt. Mr. Palmer was a Korean Navy Veteran and retired from Consolidated Aluminum in New Johnsonville. He was a long term member, Deacon, Sunday school teacher, R.A. and AWANA Leader at Trace Creek Baptist Church; he was a recent member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson. Mr. Palmer was a Founder of Christians in Action, coached Youth Sports Teams, delivered Meals on Wheels, and served as Santa Clause for the New Johnsonville Community. He enjoyed farming, hunting and his bird dogs. Mr. Palmer was a friend to all, a stranger to none, and was known as “Daddy Don”. Visitation: will be held from 10am until service time Saturday, February 28th at the Humphreys County Funeral Home. Funeral Services: for Mr. Palmer will be conducted at 1pm Saturday, February 28th in the Humphreys County Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Mark Warren officiating. Interment: will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Survivors: 2 Sons: Dudley Palmer Jr. of Dickson Jeff Palmer (Regina) of Mt. Juliet Daughter: Luanne Powell (Jerry) of Jackson 5 Grandchildren: Will Powell (Keeley) Daniel Palmer (Kristal) Sarah Goff (Scott) Jessica Powell (fiancé Jordan Zarshenas) Ethan Palmer 2 Great Grandchildren: Isaac Palmer, Raines Powell 1 Great Grandchild on the Way: Palmer Powell Preceded in death by: Parents: William Alonzo Sr. and Willie Maude Dudley Palmer Wife: Nancy Anne McNatt Palmer Son: Mark Palmer Brother: William “Bill” Palmer Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southern Baptist Global Hunger Relief Fund.
